What's New this Week?

At the school assembly, our principal, Mrs. Davis-Maybee, presented our class and the 5/6 class with green hats.  They have the school logo and on the back read “Green Team”.  The new computer cart was shown to the whole school and visitors.  It holds 16 Netbooks and will travel to each classroom on a tight schedule.
Today, author and wordsmith, Sherre Fitch, celebrated Family Literacy Day with us at our assembly and in the Library.  She is a very talented writer and loves tongue twisters. We look forward to her return in the spring.
Our letters to Philip Roy are ready to mail. In Science we are writing an assessment.  We still touch our toes at least 50 times everyday.  In French, we learned a new song about pizza!

Reaching for the Floor!

Toe Touches!

This week we continued to touch our toes everyday.  Some of us are now to the point where we actually touch the floor! The rest of us are motivated to “reach for our toes”!  All of us are experiencing a growth spurt.  Most of us check our heights on the chart taped to our washroom door.

One of our classmates had a flu fire.  It was scary, but everything is ok.  They need to fix a wall and have their home cleaned.

We finished listening to Philip Roy’s, “Submarine Outlaw” audio novel.  At times, we saw a movie playing in our heads as listen to his voice.  We liked the adventure so much; we immediately started the second book in this series.  His voice is what we hear as we take turns reading “Journey to Atlantis”.   We are writing to encourage him to make more audio books.  We think this series would make spectacular, action packed movies.

The White and Blue teams are playing in the championship games for team handball.  Red and Green are playing off for Bronze.

The quilts were put on the back burner this week.  We were very busy and did not have much spare time.  We did compose what we want to say on the labels.

Not Done Yet.....

One quilt is completed, and the other is still being knotted.    It needs a few more stitches.  Both are bound and ready for the labels.  Stay tuned for more updates and maybe a photo.
We were successful in getting Mme L an I-Pod nano!  A bright blue one.  It took a few days to be shipped, but is here now.  We are making progress on our presuasive skills.  Look out families.
We love knitting.  Several have finished their first projects.  It is addictive.
For this term we have set goals for school and home.  As a class, we are working to touch our toes 50 times everyday, and increasing our water intake.  In Gym, we finished a Round Robin Team Hanball tournament.  The Playoffs are next.
