Knitting Monsters

This week we were all about yarn.  The boys learned how to tie reef knots and made pot holders as gifts. Then they taught the girls the knot, so as a class, we could tie two quilts.  We will give them away in January.  Stay tuned to read who will receive them.  We learned how to spool knit and knit with two needles.  Some parents think our teacher has created knitting monsters!             On Tuesday we repeated our magical, interesting, concert for the whole school.  It was astonishing!
We wrote persuasive letters to our teacher’s children trying to convince them that she deserves an I-pod Nano.  It took the last two classes to get her a Wii!  We wonder how convincing we will be.  We wrote our own persuasive letters to Santa.  Stop by and read them posted on our bulletin board.
Mrs. Cameron, our wonderful cook, made us a tasty, delicious, turkey dinner last week.
We would like to wish one and all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

What a week!

We have had a back-breaking, bone snapping, spine tickling, heart pounding, busy week!  Breathe in.  Breathe out.  This week report cards came out, Reading Buddies to the ‘max’, play practice, play practice, and more play practice, Clue Bags, team hand ball, an author visit and a metaphorical writing workshop, and a presentation.
Check out our tree at the Fraser Cultural Centre’s ‘Festival of Trees’. We made ornaments with our Reading Buddies in grade Primary.
Mr. Allen, our talented, creative, and most patient Music teacher, has been very busy practicing with us for the concert. You will be entertained by the incredible talented students.
Make sure you check out our wonderful Librarian’s blog about our visit with the author, Phillip Roy from Antigonish.  He wrote the Submarine Outlaw adventure series.

Tim Horton's Camp

We were at the Tim Horton's Camp for three days and two nights (Nov. 15 -17).  We had FUN!  The meals were delicious and plentiful.  We learned how to build shelters in the woods, and started a fire.  We played some team building games and climbed the rock wall and went on the swing.  It was awesome.  We would like to thank the camp and store owners for the opportunity, plus our teachers and chaperones.
