Our praying mantis started to hatch this morning! All of a sudden the sac erupted and the babies started to pour out. It was like a scene from a horror movie! We created a habitat for them to in an old aquarium. In a few days we will take one home for our gardens.

Mad Scientists!
Today we held a Science Fair in the gym with the grade 4 class. Mrs. Wall, our science teacher helped us get ready. We have been working hard for weeks. The other classes came to visit and ask questions between recess and lunch time. Our parents and the general public came in the afternoon. Our teachers were impressed with our explanations and conduct. We were very tired by the end of the day!

Guess Who We Gave the Quilts To?
Maplewood Manor!
We walked across the playground to deliver the quilts to the residents of the Manor. Dr Jeff Williams asked us to sit in the 150 year old front palour to visit and chat. Some of the ladies looked very closely at our stitches and said we did a good job.
Our school placed second in the RCMP Adopt-a-Libray Reading Challenge. We have won new books for our libray.
We finished our paper bag hats. They are on the bulletin board in our hallway. Check them out as you walk by. They represent the different ancient cultures we have studied in Social Studies. Can you match the hat with the following cultures, Chinese, Mayan, Egyptian, Aztec, And Greek.
Since March Break we have been busy practicing, practicing, and more practicing of our Readers Theatre. Again, these were part of our studies about Ancient Societies. We have used the School's new Digital Voice Tracers to record them. Stay tuned to hear us on the blog.

Seeing Doubles!
We are Seeing Doubles!
Our class, the last two weeks got to make our self portraits out of a big piece of paper. What we thought would be easy turned out to be very difficult!! We had to keep them a secret from our parents. This week was winter carnival and student-led conference. Today is the Tatamagouche Idol, p,j, day and wacky hair day!!! We got our 350 salmon eggs on Feb. 28th. Our whole class is excited about them hatching into salmon. At the end of the spring when the eggs hatch, our gym teacher will let them into the river.
